International NGO: Designed strategy to increase access to clean energy for refugees in Uganda

Designed innovative strategy for 10-year humanitarian energy program. We conceptualized and designed a detailed strategy for sustainably increasing clean energy access for refugee settings in Uganda. Working closely with a cross-section of stakeholders, we developed tailored interventions to improve market infrastructure, catalyze new capital, and attract sustained private sector activity to strengthen local ecosystems. Within weeks of our completion, the program received additional funding due to its innovative market-systems focused approach and is on track to reach over 100,000 people in displaced settings during the start-up phase with solar home system, clean cooking, and productive-use solutions, and serve 1M refugees and host residents over the full program.
