OCA receives MFA Activity Award

We are thrilled to announce that Open Capital received an award from the USAID-supported Feed the Future Ghana Mobilizing Finance in Agriculture (MFA) activity as the Transaction Advisor that facilitated the highest amount of financing (USD 15.1 million) to women-led agribusinesses under the program.

As MFA’s International Transaction Advisor, Open Capital has helped agribusinesses in MFA’s targeted value chains, especially those led by women, to finalize complex deals and secure significant amounts of financing to ensure their operations.

While we are excited about this achievement, we recognized that much more needs to be done to close the USD 42 billion financing gap faced by women-owned/led businesses in Africa. We fundamentally believe that we cannot achieve our mission to advance African economies without supporting African women to achieve their full potential given the critical role they play in the economy.

We remain committed to continuing to build on our work on programs such as Ghana MFA to improve gender equity & women empowerment by integrating gender-smart approaches in business operations and investment decisions.
