Open Capital was invited by the US Departments of State and Commerce to attend last week’s US Trade and Investment Roundtable. Walter Lamberson, a Partner at Open Capital, joined a mix of diplomats, multinational corporations, and industry organizations like the Corporate Council on Africa to discuss opportunities to increase trade and investment in East Africa.

The event was led by US Assistant Secretary of Commerce Mr. Michael C. Camuñez and we were joined by US Ambassador to Kenya Scott Gration. The event was successful and encouraging: we saw and have since begun working on a number of new opportunities to increase trade and investments between the United States and East Africa. Hopefully we will see new partnerships and investments come as a result of this effort.
