Open Capital speaks at OAF’s Social Enterprise Happy Hour

OCA Managing Partner Andreas Zeller and Senior Analyst Rodney Carew spoke at the May edition of One Acre Fund’s Nairobi Social Enterprise Happy Hour, attended by over 100 people. Andreas discussed recent trends in impact investment across East Africa while Rodney focused on our talent recruitment and development process.

During the presentation, we discussed the importance of dedicating time and manpower to reach students directly on campus during recruiting and the necessity of a rigorous, well-designed training program for new hires. Open Capital recently hired five Business Analysts from Strathmore University, Kenyatta University, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in the 3rd year of our Business Analyst Program.

One Acre Fund is a social enterprise helping smallholder farmers across East Africa to increase productivity by providing inputs, training, and access to markets. OAF holds monthly happy hours where social entrepreneurs, investors and others in the social enterprise scene connect and share insights and experiences.
